Summary: VoxAxis does not collect your personal information, and we run no servers that receive your documents. Reading aloud, translation and text recognition (OCR) happen on your device. No account is required, and we use no advertising, tracking, or analytics. This page lists every case in which the app uses the network, and what leaves your device when it does.
VoxAxis does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, location, contacts, or usage data. No account creation or sign-in is required. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies.
The following are performed on your device:
Voice input uses Apple’s speech recognition. It runs on your device when iOS supports that for your language and iOS version (iOS downloads the language model from Apple the first time). When it does not, iOS may send the recording to Apple to be transcribed. That processing is handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy; the recording is not sent to us.
To provide its features, the app may request the permissions below. They are used only for the corresponding feature, and nothing obtained through them is sent to us.
Documents, books, and bookmarks you import, along with your display and playback settings, are stored on your device. They are not transmitted to us.
iCloud backup (optional, off by default). If you turn on iCloud backup in the app, a copy of your library, bookmarks and settings is saved to your own iCloud Drive, under your Apple ID. We cannot access it. Apple stores it under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Some app state is kept in the iOS Keychain, which iOS may sync to your other devices through your iCloud Keychain.
Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device. A backup you made to iCloud stays there until you delete it (in iOS Settings, under your Apple ID, iCloud, Manage Storage).
The app connects to the internet only in the cases below. None of these requests include your documents or personal information.
As with any website, the sites the app connects to receive a standard web request, including your IP address. Each site’s own privacy practices apply to it. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare.
VoxAxis Pro (a one-time purchase) and VoxAxis Max (a subscription) are sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. They raise the weekly listening and scanning limits; every feature is available on every plan. Payment is processed by Apple; we do not receive your payment details such as card numbers. Apple tells the app only whether you have an active purchase.
Because VoxAxis collects no personal information, it can be used safely by people of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
VoxAxis uses frameworks provided by Apple and open-source engines that run on your device. We do not share data with advertising networks or analytics providers. The only outside services the app talks to are the ones listed in sections 2, 4, 5 and 6.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
